Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival
A family festival event, based on youth, inclusivity and community behind the Junction Pub, Rainford. We have a shuttle service provided by Halton Community Transport to ferry people of St Helens and Rainford village to and from the festival site. All shuttle service users are entitled to free entrance, details on the web site closer to the event.
The festival begins with the Battle of the Sessions, adult entertainment provided by five of the best bluegrass session in the north of England and Scotland on the Friday night with a bar and pie and pea supper. On Saturday we start with instrument workshops (open to all abilities) and follow with an open-mic, a "Pop-Up Community Choir" and a slow jam topped off by our Saturday Night Gala. Sunday is given over to a breakfast bluegrass gospel session followed by a fantastic introduction to gospel harmonies led by experienced singers from Manchester's Sacred harp community finishing at 14:00.
We believe the information about the community groups and activities listed on our website is accurate and up to date. However, we recommend contacting the group directly to confirm the details before attending any groups or sessions.
